Our First Rock Challenge Photo

I would like to thank Liz Paterson and the Rock Challenge team from Turriff Academy for supplying us with this year’s first photograph from the Rock Challenge tour. Hopefully, there will be more to follow soon from some of our other schools.

We are particularly pleased with the Turriff T-Shirts because of the last minute panic that we had to get them finished in time for the event. A big “Thank You” goes to Gary and Lorraine for working through their tea breaks to complete the job.

Dorothy Decides - logo for 2012As a result of my posting yesterday celebrating the glorious Aberdeenshire weather, and how it was good that this year’s Rock Challenge event at the AECC would not be snow-effected as in previous years, there was some kind of inevitability that all that would change! I was not at all surprised, therefore, when at 5 o’clock yesterday evening, it started to snow…and snow it did!!

Despite the weather, I thought that this event was far too good to miss, especially as I was unable to attend last year’s show, and one of my colleagues had to go in my place. Continue reading

The last t-shirts and hoodies for the Aberdeen Rock Challenge event left our works last night, so we can now look forward to tonight’s event at the AECC knowing that we have done ‘our bit’ again this year! Continue reading

A big thank you!

Once again, the company has been given tickets to the Rock Challenge event in 18th February at the AECC, this time by our friends at Turriff Academy. (Westhill supplied them the previous year if I remember correctly). As I have heard that they might be opening the food stalls again, (unlike last time that I attended, 2 years ago), it looks like I will be going to support ‘our’ local teams again after all!!

Given the fact that the final is going to be held in Dundee this year, and not in Grimsby as has previously been the case, I’m sure that this will also mean that the resulting easing of travel and accommodation worries for the winners will ensure that this year’s competition will be better and more fierce then ever!

I notice that there is a smaller field of competitors than before, and truly hope that interest will now start to pick up in the Aberdeen area’s schools for the 2013 competition as a result of the shifted venue for the regional final.

…now back to printing hoodies for RC!
