Waves Radio 'Into the Weekend'

Today we welcome the listeners of Waves Radio 101.2 FM to our blog, as we are now sponsoring the ‘Into the Weekend’ show every Friday from 6 to 9 pm.

On this blog, you will find postings of local interest, such as local schools’ rock challenge efforts, news on the Moonlight Prowl, the 610 Dance Academy and much more. You will also find news from further afield, such as the Aberdeen Spitfires flyball team and the Monkey House, and even news from customers south of the border such as Chamberlayne College, Cockermouth School and from Nottinghamshire, to name a few.

We also give you tutorials in the basics of using free graphics software, a gallery of clip art for you to use and add your own contributions, along with a few of our photographs of the North East area.

Billy Thomson will be giving you regular postings of special offers that come our way as and when we think that you will find them of interest. We currently have specials on golf packages that you might like to try.

In addition to the features and news, we regularly run competitions to win attractive prizes and hope that you would be interested in joining in with these. Currently we are running a ‘lottery’ to win a Craghoppers Jacket – all that you have to do to enter is subscribe to this blog.

The site is easily navigated from the home page using the ‘Post Categories’ in the right hand margin, the ‘Tag Cloud’ in the footer or the ‘Search’ box and, if you get lost, just click on the header photo to bring you back to this home page.

If you would like to add comments to any postings, you will need to register as a user of the blog. To do this, just click ‘Leave a reply’ on any postings and register your name and email address with WordPress. We promise not to Spam your mailbox – this is a precaution to stop us from getting Spam comments ourselves.

If you see anything that you like, you can click on the buttons below each posting to share with friends on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Stumble Upon, and a whole lot more. We can add to this list if you have any favourites that we have missed.

If English is not your native language, you can translate any of the posts by scrolling down to the footer and clicking on the Google Translate button on the right hand side.

Once you become a user of the site, you might like to contribute something yourself or suggest other things that you would like to see on here. This is devised to be a social site for us to interact with our customers, and for them to interact with each other, so please feel free to come and join us!!

As well as the Blog part of this site, we have included links to our more popular catalogues, a design assistance area, and a bit about our company (see the above menu bar). The whole thing is also available as a free App for iPhone, iPod and iPad.

We hope that you all enjoy the show and enjoy reading this blog. If there is anything that you particularly like, please let us know by voting in our poll. (No need to be a signed-up member).

Chamberlayne College Rock Challenge Photos

Here are a few photos that we have just received from our friends at Chamberlayne college of their Rock Challenge rehearsals 2012.

We have been advised that there will be more to follow of the actual performance at Southampton at a later date.

More about Chamberlayne college’s Rock Challenge performance can be found by clicking here.

Many thanks to Rachel for supplying these photos.

A big thank you!

Once again, the company has been given tickets to the Rock Challenge event in 18th February at the AECC, this time by our friends at Turriff Academy. (Westhill supplied them the previous year if I remember correctly). As I have heard that they might be opening the food stalls again, (unlike last time that I attended, 2 years ago), it looks like I will be going to support ‘our’ local teams again after all!!

Given the fact that the final is going to be held in Dundee this year, and not in Grimsby as has previously been the case, I’m sure that this will also mean that the resulting easing of travel and accommodation worries for the winners will ensure that this year’s competition will be better and more fierce then ever!

I notice that there is a smaller field of competitors than before, and truly hope that interest will now start to pick up in the Aberdeen area’s schools for the 2013 competition as a result of the shifted venue for the regional final.

…now back to printing hoodies for RC!

Having won for the past two years, Westhill Academy are back to regain their winning title in the Rock Challenge!

With a theme based upon Dantes Inferno, Westhill Academy then went on to win the local heat, then placed 4th in the Northern Open Finals in Grimsby. Continue reading

Chamberlayne College for the Arts – Rock Challenge 2012

After a 1 year absence, and further to their second place in their Southampton heat in the 2010 competition, the Chamberlayne College of the Arts (formerly Chamberlayne Park School) are back in the Rock Challenge arena with a dance piece about People Trafficking! Continue reading
