AM2PM Number 12

AM2PM Competition – Number 12

Yet another fortnight has passed and it is time for another location puzzler. Once again, we at PomPrint Designs extend another big welcome to Waves Radio listeners to our blog, and I hope that you will like our fortnightly Location Puzzler competitions.

All that you have to do to be in with a chance of winning one of our Quadra bags is to identify where in Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire I was when I took the photo shown in this posting and fill in your personal details in the form below, along with the name of the town in which you think it was taken.

The competition will close on Saturday 30th March and the winner will be announced on the AM2PM show and on here on Monday 1st April. The winner of the last competition was Jeanette Gerrie, a Waves Radio listener in the Fraserburgh area, and she has been asked to choose her prize. Jeanette, along with only 10 others, correctly identified Sandhaven harbour. This week, we also had 1 incorrect answer, as one of our entrants thought that the photo was taken in Boddam.

I would like to thank everyone who has voted in my poll so far and, once again, ask that if you have not yet made your comment about the difficulty, or otherwise, of these puzzles, please register your vote below:

I think that the AM2PM fortnightly location puzzle is:-

Do you recognise this building? If you do, why not enter our fortnightly competition, in conjunction with Waves Radio?

Observation Tower

The Rosehearty Observation Tower – last week’s unsolved location puzzler.

Unfortunately it would appear that I made last week’s puzzler a bit too difficult. Nobody at all managed to recognise the old Observation Tower in Rosehearty…so I have decided to make this week’s puzzle a bit easier, especially as I believe that we might get a few entries from members further afield (at least I hope so)!

This week I have chosen a location that should be well known to locals, but a bit more difficult for anyone outside the northeast of Scotland. All that you need to do to enter is to identify where the photo below was taken and comment this post with “This weeks location shot was taken in …..” followed by the village, town or city in which you believe the item can be seen. It’s so simple, we don’t even give you a prize, but you will at least have the smug feeling knowing that you got it right!

All correct answers will be revealed on Wednesday around noon.

Concrete Cow

The Rock Challenge final was in Milton Keynes this year, but that is not the only town that can boast a concrete cow!! Where would you find this fine beast in Scotland?

Best of luck, especially to those of you who live outside our area!! Happy googling.

Gorge

Location Puzzler No 6

It would appear that last week’s puzzler turned out to be a little too difficult to solve, especially of you happen to live outside Aberdeenshire. Last night I added another photo which was taken from the same place, but in a different direction, in an attempt to make it easier and, I am pleased to say, I now have one correct answer!! I will therefore leave puzzle number 5 open for a few more days before giving the answer so that you can all have another go at it should you so desire.

Now on to this week’s location. I think that this will be very easy for locals to identify, and possible for anyone who uses the world of Google images to solve our puzzles.

Please reply to this post with “This weeks photograph was taken at ….” and the name of the town or village where you believe that the shot was taken. I hope that we get a few correct entries this week. Once again, there are no prizes, save for the smug feeling that you got it right!! Wink

Another attempt

Location Puzzler No 5A

It would appear that I made last week’s competition too difficult for our regular location puzzlers, as I have not yet received a single answer to it from anyone. Just in case you missed it, it can be found here.

In order to make up for this, I am making it a bit easier by giving you another photograph taken from the same spot, this time with a few more identifiable buildings and landmarks. Hopefully, this will get an answer before I launch tomorrow’s puzzle (Number 6).

See if this view helps and, if so, please reply to this posting with “This photo was taken in …” followed by the name of the town or village in which you believe that it was taken. There are no prizes, just treat it as you would a crossword puzzle in the papers!

Location Puzzler No 5

Once again I have to congratulate our two regulars at the location puzzler for getting last week’s answer so quickly. I thought that this one might have proved to be a little more difficult, but that was obviously not the case. This week I have tried to make it more of a challenge!

Sailor

Last week’s competition was the Sailor Statue outside the Hotel in Oldmeldrum.

For those of you who are new here, each Friday I upload a photo of a location somewhere in Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire for you to identify. There are no prizes, just the smug feeling that you beat me once again! You really don’t need to know the area to be able to work out the answer, as our friend and regular contributor on Plymouth proves every week! Last week’s location was correctly identified as Oldmeldrum, as the photograph was of the Sailor statue outside the Meldrum Arms.

In order to join in with the fun, please identify the location in which the photo below was taken and comment this post with “This week’s photo was taken in …”, and then the name of the town or village in which the building can be seen. Correct answers will be revealed on Wednesday at (around) noon.

I hope that we get a few more people joining in this week!

So, with no further ado…here is this week’s location shot. Good luck!!

Pavilion

Where in Aberdeenshire would you find this building?

Location Puzzler No 4

A little later than expected I present our 4th photographic ‘puzzler’ which was taken somewhere in Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire. Once again, this is ‘for fun only’ with no prizes being given for the correct answer but, as you can now comment these posts using your facebook or twitter accounts, I am hoping that we get a few more of you taking part this week.

Last week’s photographs were correctly identified as being of Pennan and the graveyard at Rattray.

Sailor

Where in Aberdeenshire could you see this sailor?

Please reply to this post with “This sailor can be found in …” and then the name of the town or village in which he can be seen.

Puzzler 3

Location Puzzler No3

It appears that this week’s puzzle is too easy, so here is what we call ‘A Pricey Bonus’, just for our friend in Devon. This should take a little longer to find.

Usual rules apply…just comment ‘This Graveyard can be found in …’ and then the name of the town or village.

Puzzler 3

Can you name the place in Aberdeenshire where this graveyard can be found?
