As most of you are undoubtedly aware, for the last 6 months PomPrint Designs has been bringing Waves Radio’s ‘Into the Weekend’ show to you every Friday evening from 6 until 9. This week our contract ends, and we have made the bold decision to spend the next 6 months sponsoring one of the station’s ‘flagship’ daytime shows – AM2PM, which is aired daily from Monday to Friday from 10am until 2pm.
It goes without saying that a commitment such as this represents a large proportion of the company’s annual advertising budget and we will therefore be putting in a lot of effort, both in work, and on this blog, making certain that our investment proves to be money well spent.

On Monday 15th October the show, which is currently hosted by Brian Daniel, not only has a new sponsor, but also introduces a new presenter in the guise of 25 year old Morayshire lass Christina Tatlow, who will be ‘looking after’ the show for the first 2 weeks of our sponsorship and also acting as stand in for Brian thereafter. According to Kenny King, the radio station owner, “Christina is 25 years old shoe size 6 worked with various broadcasting and journalistic organisations and is that person who stands at the end of a gig to get a signed ticket or drumstick. Interests music (of course) writing, pub quizzes and travelling.” We hope that you will all give Christina your support by tuning in and entering her daily prize competitions.
On the subject of competitions, as well as the daily phone-in, we will be running a fortnightly competition, also with Waves Radio and on this blog, for a choice of some very nice prizes. This fortnightly competition will be the now familiar ‘Location Puzzler’ where the public are invited to identify the Aberdeenshire location in which I took one of my photographs. It has been proven that you don’t need to be local, or have even visited the north east of Scotland to be able to get the answers, as a few well-chosen key words in a web search engine usually manages to bring up a similar image from which the location can be gleaned. Each puzzler will be launched at 10am on a Monday and will run for just short of 2 weeks.
Prizes for the ‘Location Puzzler’ competition will include, amongst other things, a choice of one of the very nice bags pictured below:-
More details of the prizes and the competition itself will be in my next posting.
We sincerely hope that you will throw your support behind Brian, Christina and ourselves over the coming months and make the show a great success and an event that will become part of your working day. For those of you who are further afield, you can listen to the show by streaming it onto your PC from the Waves Radio website. (Please note that you must put in your UK postcode e.g. AB42 5EE to be able to listen).
