New Season – New Prizes

Now that we have had more than two successive days with temperatures staying on the positive size of the Celsius scale, we at PomPrint have declared it springtime at last.

With the arrival of the new season, we have decided that we should give a spring clean to our prize cupboard, and introduce something more appropriate to the glorious Scottish summer, and what could be more appropriate than towels?

For the spring and summer months, we are changing the fortnightly prize for our ‘Location Puzzler’ competition from the highly successful range of Quadra bags, to beautiful, soft bales of towels, to use on the beach, or to dry yourself off after taking a shower to cool down, after a day in the blistering summer heat here in Northeast Scotland. You could even use them to dry yourself in the unlikely even that you get stuck in a shower.

The towel bales come in a choice of 3 colours, Aqua, Fuchsia and White and comprise:-

To tie in with the towel theme, we have also supplied Waves with Dressing Gowns to give away as prizes on Brian Daniel’s AM2PM show, which airs daily from 10am to 2pm on 101.2 FM. Why not tune in to Brian’s show and see if you can win one for yourself?

PomPrint Designs Ltd of Mintlaw are looking to recruit sales personnel to assist with the company’s expansion.

The role will require the appointees to:-

  • Maintain existing client base within a designated geographical area,
  • Achieve defined sales targets whilst maintaining current profitability levels,
  • Identify new business opportunities within current and new markets,
  • Work as part of the sales team to promote the company’s product range

The ideal candidate will have:-

  • A proven successful track record in a sales environment
  • A clean current driving licence

Experience in selling Corporate Clothing and/or Business Gifts would be a considerable advantage but not essential.

Excellent remuneration package.

I am writing this posting to advise customers of PomPrint Designs that Billy Thomson is no longer employed by the company, and should no longer be contacted with sales enquiries. All email to Billy’s address has now been diverted to the managing director and will be processed by her until such a time as a suitable replacement for Billy has been found.

Billy’s departure means that the company will soon be advertising the job vacancy so, if you think that either you, or someone that you know, might be interested in this position, please keep an eye open on this blog for an official announcement and job specification in the near future.

One week ago I posted a set of 8 photographs on this blog that were candidates for next year’s calendar, and asked our readers to vote for the one that they thought was most suitable. So far, we have only received a total of 5 votes, one of which is mine!

I am therefore appealing to readers, once again, to cast your vote for your favourite scene. The posting can be visited by clicking here.

It is our intention to do this on a regular, monthly basis, assuming that the Scottish weather permits, so please keep coming back for our other offerings throughout the year.

If you like these scenes, or those from our previous calendars, please remember that they are available on a variety of items, such as placemats and coasters. They make an ideal gift for anyone who has moved away from the area, or have relatives in Northeast Scotland.

 Administration Assistant

PomPrint Designs Ltd of Mintlaw are looking to recruit an administration assistant to assist with the company’s expansion.

The role will require the appointee to:-

  • Meet and greet customers at our Mintlaw premises, and direct them to the appropriate member of staff.
  • Answer the telephone and divert calls to the appropriate department.
  • Input suppliers’ invoices and prepare purchase orders on the company’s ERP system.
  • Process and file paperwork for archives and future reference.
  • Carry out general office duties, such as dealing with the mail, emailing and letter typing, taking minutes of meetings etc.
  • Collect sales contact information under guidance from the Sales Director.
  • Telephone the company’s customers to make them aware of special offers and events again, under guidance from the Sales Director.

The successful candidate will have:-

  • An excellent telephone manner and a well-groomed appearance at all times.
  • Proven organisational skills.
  • Proven literacy and numeracy skills, to a standard level, in the English language.

Starting pay will be £7 / hour for the first 3 months in the position, and then brought into line with the other employees, upon successful completion of a 3 month probationary period.

Hours 9am – 5pm Mon-Fri

Peterhead Relay for Life 2013

As a sponsor of Cancer Research UK, PomPrint Designs are pleased to help advertise the Peterhead Relay for Life event on 6th and 7th July on their behalf.

Cancer Research UK PETERHEAD Relay for Life 2013

Peterhead Relay for Life is a charity event organised by volunteers which raises money for Cancer Research UK. Relay for Life is an inspirational 24 hours that brings together Peterhead and the surrounding communities to remember loved ones, honour cancer survivors and most importantly celebrate life! Peterhead is the most successful annual Relay for Life event in the UK and thanks to the support of the local community has raised a staggering £650,000 for Cancer Research UK’s life saving work over the past 7 years.

How Relay Works…

From 11am on Saturday 6th July 2013 until 11am on Sunday 7th, teams will walk round Lord Catto Park in Peterhead in a relay format. Teams can all walk together, in pairs, individually, or can even run if they are feeling energetic but there must be at least one member of each team on the track at any one time. All around us as we walk is a festival of entertainment and activities to keep everyone amused during a truly remarkable 24 hours!

Hope and Inspiration

The Survivors Lap is truly inspirational and testament to the amazing work being done by Cancer Research UK using the money raised by Relay for Life. The Candle of Hope ceremony is an incredibly touching reminder of why we need Relay for Life.
