AM2PM Competition – Number 16

Once again, we extend a warm welcome to the listeners of Waves Radio to our online competition which runs in conjunction with the AM2PM show hosted by Brian Daniel, every weekday from 10am to 2pm on 101.2 FM.

As we are in the season for bathing, either in the sea or in our local swimming pool, or in our own baths or showers after a warm summer’s day, we have a prize that is suitable for the occasion. In order to be in with a chance of winning one of our towel bales (RRP £35), all that you have to do is identify where in Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire I was when I took the photo shown in this posting and fill in your personal details in the form below, along with the name of the town in which you think it was taken.

The competition will close on Saturday 25th May and the winner will be announced on the AM2PM show and on here on Monday 27th May. The winner of the last competition was Heather Westmacott, a Waves Radio listener in the Maud area, and she has been asked to choose her bale of towels. Heather, along with 11 others, correctly identified the coastal hamlet of Whinnyfold. This week, we also had two incorrect answers.

I have decided to make this fortnight’s competition a little easier than the last, so I am expecting a few more correct answers this time around. I would like to thank everyone who has voted in my poll so far and, once again, ask that if you have not yet made your comment about the difficulty, or otherwise, of these puzzles, please register your vote below:

AM2PM Competition – Number 15

Location Puzzler number 15 brings us into the summer season and, by way of celebration, we have decided to change the prize into something more appropriate for the Scottish weather at this time of year – Towels!!

The competition will close on Saturday 11th May and the winner will be announced on the AM2PM show and on here on Monday 13rd May. The winner of the last competition was Brian Westmacott, a Waves Radio listener in the Maud area, and he has been asked to choose his prize. Brian, along with 10 others, correctly identified the River Ythan at Ellon. This week, we also had no incorrect answers.

I have decided to make this fortnight’s competition a little more obscure this time around, so I am not expecting many correct answers. I would like to thank everyone who has voted in my poll so far and, once again, ask that if you have not yet made your comment about the difficulty, or otherwise, of these puzzles, please register your vote below:

New Season – New Prizes

Now that we have had more than two successive days with temperatures staying on the positive size of the Celsius scale, we at PomPrint have declared it springtime at last.

With the arrival of the new season, we have decided that we should give a spring clean to our prize cupboard, and introduce something more appropriate to the glorious Scottish summer, and what could be more appropriate than towels?

For the spring and summer months, we are changing the fortnightly prize for our ‘Location Puzzler’ competition from the highly successful range of Quadra bags, to beautiful, soft bales of towels, to use on the beach, or to dry yourself off after taking a shower to cool down, after a day in the blistering summer heat here in Northeast Scotland. You could even use them to dry yourself in the unlikely even that you get stuck in a shower.

The towel bales come in a choice of 3 colours, Aqua, Fuchsia and White and comprise:-

PomPrint Towel Bales
Description Width Height
Washing Glove 16 cm 22 cm
Guest Towel 30 cm 50 cm
Hand Towel 50 cm 100 cm
Bath Towel 70 cm 140 cm
Bath Sheet 100 cm 180 cm
PomPrint Towel Bales

PomPrint Towel Bales, available in 3 colours, are the new prizes for our fortnightly competition in conjunction with Waves Radio.

To tie in with the towel theme, we have also supplied Waves with Dressing Gowns to give away as prizes on Brian Daniel’s AM2PM show, which airs daily from 10am to 2pm on 101.2 FM. Why not tune in to Brian’s show and see if you can win one for yourself?

One of the new prizes that can be won on Waves Radio’s AM2PM daily competition.

We hope that you like our towel bales, which have a RRP of £35, and hope that you will take a look at our new season of Location Puzzler competitions, starting on here on Monday.

Yet another fortnight has passed and it is time for another location puzzler. Once again, we at PomPrint Designs extend another big welcome to Waves Radio listeners to our blog, and I hope that you will like our fortnightly Location Puzzler competitions. The last puzzler appears to have stumped a lot of our regular contributors, as we only received 8 correct answers this week. Hopefully, you will find this week’s puzzler a little easier.

All that you have to do to be in with a chance of winning one of our Quadra bags is to identify where in Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire I was when I took the photo shown in this posting and fill in your personal details in the form below, along with the name of the town in which you think it was taken.

The competition will close on Saturday 27th April and the winner will be announced on the AM2PM show and on here on Monday 29th April. The winner of the last competition was Eric Reid, a Waves Radio listener in the Kingswells area, and he has been asked to choose his prize. Eric, along with only 7 others, correctly identified Rosehearty School. This week, we also had one incorrect answer, as one of our entrants thought that he photo was taken at RAF Boddam.

I would like to thank everyone who has voted in my poll so far and, once again, ask that if you have not yet made your comment about the difficulty, or otherwise, of these puzzles, please register your vote below:

AM2PM Competition – Number 13

Yet another fortnight has passed and it is time for another location puzzler. Once again, we at PomPrint Designs extend another big welcome to Waves Radio listeners to our blog, and I hope that you will like our fortnightly Location Puzzler competitions. The last puzzler appears to have stumped a lot of our regular contributors, as we received almost equal amounts of correct and incorrect answers. I believe that I have made this fortnight’s competition a little easier, but only time will tell.

All that you have to do to be in with a chance of winning one of our Quadra bags is to identify where in Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire I was when I took the photo shown in this posting and fill in your personal details in the form below, along with the name of the town in which you think it was taken.

The competition will close on Saturday 13th April and the winner will be announced on the AM2PM show and on here on Monday 15th April. The winner of the last competition was Debbie Porter, a Waves Radio listener in the Strichen area, and she has been asked to choose her prize. Debbie, along with only 9 others, correctly identified Fyvie Castle. This week, we also had an amazing amount of 9 incorrect answers. These included Glamis Castle, Craigievar Castle, Huntly Castle and Crathes Castles. One entrant even thought that it was taken in the mythical and mystical land of Doddam!

I would like to thank everyone who has voted in my poll so far and, once again, ask that if you have not yet made your comment about the difficulty, or otherwise, of these puzzles, please register your vote below:

AM2PM Competition – Number 11

Puzzler number 10 appears to have stumped a lot of our regulars, as we only managed a total of 7 entries this time around, 3 of which were incorrect. Ironically, one of the correct answers came from Plymouth in Devon! I have made this fortnight’s competition a little easier by using a photograph that can be found elsewhere on this blog. If you do not recognise the location, I suggest that you take a look around some of my other postings, where you will be able to find the answer.

Lorna, along with only 3 others, correctly identified the castle in Huntly. This week, we also had 3 incorrect answers. One entrant thought that this was Brucklay Castle, whereas two more thought that it was the ruined mansion house in Aden Park, Mintlaw.
