New Premises - Rear

Now it’s Official – PomPrint Designs are on the Move.

A short time ago in an earlier posting on this blog, I intimated that something big would be happening in the microcosm that is PomPrint Designs, in the near future. Today, the directors of the company can confirm that, as of October 2012, we will be moving to new premises, still within Mintlaw.

Current Offices

The solicitors have all agreed terms, bank managers have given green lights and both parties have now accepted the proposals, so we now have a lot of work to do getting ready to move ….. over the road!! That’s right, we are moving barely 200 yards from our own front door, but to more spacious accommodation which will allow us to considerably expand our embroidery and sign making departments, as well as giving us oodles more storage space.

The property in question is the one that was recently vacated by Woodalls (the mobility people) which faces out on the main Mintlaw Station Road, sandwiched between Gordon Motors and the Aberdeenshire Heritage Offices. To give people outside the area an idea of its size, prior to Woodalls, the property was a kitchen showroom…with lots of space!

Almost as if by magic, an hour after cementing the deal, I was phoned by Kenny King, the owner of Waves Radio Station in Peterhead about our advertising campaign. When I told him the news, he put forward the suggestion that Waves do a live broadcast from the new plant once we have moved. I reluctantly bit his hand off at the opportunity, so it looks like Waves Radio 101.2 FM may well be broadcasting a show from a certain workplace in Mintlaw some time in October this year. We are also going to be looking into getting someone of a celebrity type to officially open ‘Richard Allen House’ as it will be known (in honour of my dad who passed away earlier this year). Alex Salmond himself visited both of our previous locations, so don’t rule out someone of that standing – we are hopeful!!

I will be keeping all of our blog readers up to date as and when more details are known so, in the mean time, I’m opening a bottle of La Cantera to celebrate. Glug night everyone!!
