I don’t fully understand why, but when I hear the words ‘Rock’ and ‘Challenge’ in the same sentence, I immediately start thinking about the weather. I suppose that the idea of the competition starting in February each year here in the frozen north might have something to do with it, as I have many recollections over the years of standing in queues in the snow outside the Music Hall and the AECC, and having to leave the event before the results were announced, for fear if not being able to get myself home via the wondrous Aberdonian autobahn system!
