Why Mr Romney should have chosen PomPrint

Romney

The splash page for the 'With Mitt' app for iPhone.

Something that caught my eye in the news this morning came from the American Presidential campaign where it transpires that the newly-elected Republican presidential candidate got off to a bad start owing to a spelling mistake.

The “With Mitt” iPhone app greeted the user with the message “A Better Amercia” in an attempt to urge voters to line up behind Mitt Romney. Not a very impressive start I’m sure that you will agree!

If Mr Romney had approached ourselves, however, he would have been comforted to know that, not only do we spell check and proof read as we go, but we also send the customer a proof of each product for approval before production commences. With many years of experience behind all of our employees checking spellings of (especially) names on the backs of Football Shirts, T-Shirts and a multitude of garments individually named for Rock Challenge, we pride ourselves in getting our spelling right every time!

If you have a requirement for individually named garments, spelled correctly, and at a price that is affordable, why not get in touch with us and make use of our experience in this field? If you leave it in the hands of others, you might find yourself in a similar position to Mr Romney, or worse!

I do hope that the ‘With Mitt’ app does not refer to the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution as “The Right to Bare Arms”. Now that would be interesting!

I was back to work (at last) for the first time after my holiday today and spent a long time trying to play catch-up. There is obviously a natural law that dictates that as soon as you take time off from work, then you are needed back immediately.

Never mind, the gang in the print room managed to successfully achieve the impossible by getting the last of the Rock Challenge orders (Sir Henry Floyd in Aylesbury) out of the door in a single afternoon. A remarkable achievement considering the complexity of the design!

Before going back to ‘real’ blog posting, I thought that it might be a good idea to show a couple of holiday snaps to prove that Dianne and I have really been away, so here goes..

New Friends

Yours truly with a couple of new friends that he met while on holiday.

Above is a photo of me with a couple of other ‘guests’ on the Voyager of the Seas. They may look a tad strange, but then, I do move in some interesting circles. Admittedly, bumping into a couple of penguins on their annual holiday did strike me as being a bit odd at a latitude of 5° North. A sign of global warming perhaps?

I'm not shopping

Dianne trying to hide the fact that she spent most of her holiday in shops.

As can be seen from the shot above, Dianne spent a lot of time looking around the shops. The rest of the time (as seen here) she tried to pretend that she did not spend all of her time in shops! Fortunately, we were refused the mortgage that we needed to buy any remotely ‘useful’ item from any of them, so we managed to spend very little over the 2 weeks spree.

Lastly, I have a new contender for the useless sign award:-

Toilet Sign

Do not throw your car into the toilet!

It is reassuring that the nice people from Royal Caribbean fly their Green credentials by forbidding their passengers from disposing of their cars down the toilet! Why anyone would want to do this is beyond me, especially when you consider the difficulty of smuggling a roller on board in the first place, but it has obviously been a problem in the past and, quite rightly, should be stamped out!

Back to normality with my next posting (I promise)!!!

After 2 weeks of inaction from myself on here, (the competitions for Waves radio were done before I left for holiday and left on a ‘timer’), I have managed to find a computer that will allow me to bring you all up to date with my whereabouts.

Passepartout and myself are currently in the Holiday Inn in Singapore and will be flying back to good old Blighty on Monday, so normal service will be resumed from Tuesday onwards, when I will be sending all my belated postcards from UAE, India, Malaysia and Singapore. I have managed to get a few ‘snaps’ that you might like to see…catch you all again soon.

Bags of Fun on Waves Radio

As I will be away on annual holiday from tomorrow evening, I have had to change the format for the prizes on our weekly “Where’s Waves?” competition. This means that the winners for the next 3 weeks will have a choice of prizes.

Bags

A Collection of Kit Bags which are available to the winners of our weekly competitions on Waves Radio.

In order to make things as simple as possible, I have decided that we should avoid the issue of sizes (as for clothing) by offering variety of bags to the winners. We therefore will have a choice of sports kit bags and document bags available. These will include the Quadra Portfolio Briefcase that we described a couple of weeks ago, supplemented by three kit bags (including a very nice Nike golf bag) as can be seen pictured right.

Once again, we will be posting a location shot from a town or village in the North East of Scotland for you to identify. Last week, we had a winner from Plymouth, so I guess that the task should not really be that difficult for a local!

Full details will be available on this site, and on Waves from 6 pm tomorrow night, so make certain that you visit and enter! Even more important…make certain that you tune in the our “Into the Weekend” show…there is no excuse, even if you live in Plymouth, as it streams live from the Waves website.
